Some of our Shelter Success Stories
With so many animals coming through our shelter here are just a few of our past residents stories

Pip, Squeak and Bart

These three Grey Headed Flying Fox pups came into care after finding themselves orphaned for different reasons. Squeak fell of mum mid flight landing hard on concrete, she sustained significant head trauma. Pip came into care found abandoned and weak after her mum didn't return to the colony for her. Bart came into care after his mum was electrocuted on power lines.  All three batlets have now been released

Sienna

Sienna the Eastern Grey Kangaroo came into care after her mum was hit by a car. Sienna sustained fractures to her foot and tail.  She healed beautifully and was later released

Tinsel

Tinsel the echidna was rescued Christmas day after she was trapped between a rock and a hard place (literally!). Breaking one of her claws in her bid to freedom and grazing a paw she was kept in care for a couple of days allowing her wounds to heal
.

Fang

Fang the microbat was rescued after he was found floating in a member of public's dam. After a couple of weeks in care he was released.

Feather
Feather

Feather and his brother duster were rescued from a local primary school after a prep age child told the teacher there were emus in the bag room.

After a couple of months in care they were released.

Sam

Sam and his friend Ella were our shelters very first eastern grey kangaroos. Sam came into care after his mum was shot and the shooter decided it would be fun to raise a joey. Suffering from dehydration, malnutrition, thrush and bacterial infections after being raised on inappropriate formula and conditions, we didn’t think he would make it.

15mths after coming into care Sam and Ella were released.

Clay

Clay and Dakota

Clay came to us so that we could give Dakota a play mate. Unfortunately he had been raised with a dog and didn't understand what food wombats were supposed to eat. It took us many months to get Clay to understand he was a wombat and not a dog
.

Holly and Archer

Archer came to us when he was just 400gms right before New Year's Eve. Holly came in just on 1kg a few months later and was a fantastic playmate for Arch. Both where soft released from our property nine months after coming into care

 Phil and Ernie

Phil came into care after he was found all by himself. Too small to survive he came into care and has now been released back into the wild.  Ernie came into care after being left standing on the road beside his dead mum for 5 days. When Ernie came to us he was a bit of a mess. Ernie and Phil are now grown up and back into the wild

Mitchell and Mason

Always best mates, Mitchell came to us with third degree burns to his feet and paws after being burnt in the Kilmore fires in 2014, he was in bandages for over two months. Mason joined us when his mum was chased by dogs causing him to fall out of his mum's pouch.  Both boys are now released

Grover and Huxley

Both boys arrived at the shelter as pinkies weighing only 360gms.  They were joined by another wombat, Aqua when in their teenage months. Grover and Aqua are now both released. Unfortunately Huxley passed away just a few months prior to release.
